What is this used for:

When to not take this medicine:

  • Allergic reaction to azithromycin or any other ingredients present along with it.
  • Liver or kidney problems
  • Bleeding disorders and use of anticoagulants
  • Heart problems, including irregular heartbeats
  • Diarrhea when you have taken antibiotics before
  • Myasthenia gravis


How should i take the medicine:

Take this medicine with an adequate amount of water as directed by the physician. Do not take this medicine in small or larger amounts than recommended.

 

How this medicine works:

It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

 

Side effects

  • Severe stomach pain (rare)
  • Diarrhea (common)
  • Fast or pounding heartbeats (rare)
  • Headache (less common)
  • Nausea (less common)

  • Dasatinib - Moderate

When these medicines are taken or used together can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious and potentially life-threatening, If you experience any signs and symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations then inform the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.


  • Ibuprofen - Minor

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. When these medicines are taken or used together, it may cause side effects. If you experience any signs and symptoms like nausea, gastric discomfort, abdominal pain, then inform the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.


  • Amiodarone - Major

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. When these medicines are taken or used together may increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that is potentially life-threatening. In addition, amiodarone blood levels may be increased when mixed with azithromycin. If you experience any signs and symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations then inform the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.


  • BCG Vaccine - Major

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. When these medicines are taken or used together may reduce the anti-tumor activity of BCG in the bladder. If you experience any signs and symptoms like dizziness, vomiting,shortness of breath then inform the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.


  • Desipramine - Moderate

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. When these medicines are taken or used together can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious and potentially life-threatening, If you experience any signs and symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations then inform the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.

 

Alcohol interactions:

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while receiving/taking this medicine as it may cause interactions and lead to serious adverse effects and may worsen the health condition.
