Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease caused by the initial infection with varicella zoster virus. It can also be spread through the air by infected people when they sneeze or cough. The disease also spreads through contact with an infected person’s chickenpox blisters.
Usually, it is perceived that adults are unlikely to be affected by chickenpox. While the incidence of chickenpox may be lower among adults, it affects the contracted adults more severely than children and can be contracted by anyone who is not vaccinated against it and may be exposed to the virus.
