Drug interactions:

• Benazepril- Moderate

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. Either increases the effects of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism and may lower blood pressure. Suitable alternatives may be considered based on the condition of the patient.

• Captopril- Moderate

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. Either increases the effects of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism and may lower blood pressure. Suitable alternatives may be considered based on the condition of the patient.

• Acetylcysteine- Minor

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. Acetylcysteine increases the effects of trimetazidine and may enhance vasodilatory effects. Suitable alternatives may be considered based on the condition of the patient.

• Ergotamine- Major

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. Trimetazidine increases the effects of ergotamine by decreasing metabolism. Suitable alternative may be considered based on the condition of the patient.

Alcohol interactions:

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while receiving/taking this medicine as it may cause interactions and lead to serious adverse effects and may worsen the health condition.

Food interactions:

It is recommended to avoid foods, supplements, or salt substitutes that contain potassium.

Expert Advice:

1. Use of trimetazidine is not recommended for individuals with Parkinson's disease and motion disorders (such as tremor (shaking), muscle rigidity and walking disorders and restless leg syndrome)
2. Care must be taken when this medicine combination is used in elderly patients.
3. Seek emergency medical help if you experience any of the side effects like Dizziness, Light-headedness, fainting, etc.
4. Medicines, salt substitutes or supplements that may contain potassium must be avoided for individuals receiving/consuming this medicine
5. It is recommended to avoid driving or using heavy machinery immediately after consuming this medicine.

Missed dose instructions:

Take this medicine as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose skip the dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose Instructions:

Seek emergency treatment or contact your physician in case if you experience any unusual signs and symptoms during the treatment with this medicine.
