Take this medicine with an adequate amount of water as directed by the physician. Do not take this medicine in small or larger amounts than recommended.
How this medicine works:
This medicine prevents the growth of bacterial infections by inhibition of two key bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase.

Pregnancy warning:
Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Lactation warning:
Use of this medicine is not recommended for lactating and breastfeeding mothers unless absolutely necessary. Inform your doctor about the use of this medicine. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.
Renal dose adjustments:
Care must be taken for individuals with kidney disease while taking this medicine. Please discuss appropriate dose adjustments with your doctor. Your doctor may also prescribe a suitable alternative on the basis of creatinine clearance values.
Hepatic dose adjustments:
Care must be taken for individuals with liver disease while taking this medicine. Please discuss appropriate dose adjustments with your doctor. Your doctor may also prescribe a suitable alternative.
Drug interactions:
Inform your doctor about the use of either medicine. Levofloxacin and other medications in its class can cause tendinitis and tendon rupture, and the risk may be increased when combined with a steroid such as prednisone. Older adults over 60 years of age and those who have received a kidney, heart, and/or lung transplant may be particularly susceptible. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.

Tramadol may rarely cause seizures, and combining it with other medications that can also cause seizures such as levofloxacin may increase that risk. Missed dose instructions:
Take this medicine as soon as you remember. However if it is almost the time for your next dose skip the dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double dose to make up for the missed dose.
