How should I take the medicine?

Take this medicine with an adequate amount of water as directed by the physician. Do not take this medicine in small or larger amounts than recommended.

 

How this medicine works:

This medicine is used in the treatment of infections caused by certain fungi and yeast. This is an effective antifungal medicine for infections.

Drug interactions:

  • Dextromethorphan-Major

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicine. When these medicines are taken together, the effectiveness of dextromethorphan may be increased. If you experience any unusual signs and symptoms like drowsiness, difficulty in breathing, nervousness, diarrhea, etc. Immediately inform your doctor. Appropriate dose adjustments or suitable alternatives may be considered based on your condition.

  • Clozapine- Moderate

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicine. When these medicines are taken together, there may be a chance of an increase in the blood levels of clozapine even after the completion of your course duration of clozapine. Close monitoring is recommended to use terbinafine. If you experience any unusual signs and symptoms, inform your doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or suitable alternatives may be considered based on your condition.

  • Fluoxetine-Moderate

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicine. When these medicines are taken together, there may be a chance of an increase in the blood levels of Fluoxetine even after the completion of your course duration of Fluoxetine. Close monitoring is recommended to use terbinafine. If you experience any unusual signs and symptoms, inform your doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or suitable alternatives may be considered based on your condition.

  • Fluconazole-Moderate

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicine. When these medicines are taken together, there may be an increase in the concentration of terbinafine in the blood levels. This may give some serious side effects like stomach upset, diarrhea, smell disturbances, or taste disturbances liver damage, etc. Close monitoring is recommended to use both the medicines safely. Appropriate dose adjustments or suitable alternatives may be considered based on your condition.

 

Alcohol interactions:

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while taking this medicine as it may cause interactions and lead to serious adverse effects and may worsen the health condition.
