What is this used for:

  • Relief of muscle spasms, pain and rigidity associated with Multiple sclerosis

When to not take this medicine:

  • Hypersensitivity/Allergy towards this medicine or ingredients present along with it.
  • Stroke
  • Kidney damage or failure
  • Parkinson’s disease

 

How should I take the medicine:

Take this medicine with an adequate amount of water as directed by the physician. Do not take this medicine in small or larger amounts than recommended.

 

How this medicine works:

This works by reducing the transmission of messages between nerve cells so muscles are less likely to contract and become stiff which causes muscle spasms, pain, and discomfort.

 

Side effects

  • Bloody or dark urine ( less common)
  • Chest pain (less common)
  • Fainting (rare)
  • Mental depression (rare)
  • Constipation (common)
  • Dizziness (less common)
  • Headache (common)


Pregnancy warning: Category C

  • Diphenhydramine - Moderate

  • Alprazolam - Moderate

  • Tramadol - Major

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. When these medicines are taken or used together, can lead to serious side effects including respiratory distress, coma or even death. If you experience such symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in judgment inform the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done, or suitable alternate medicine may be considered based on the condition.


  • Methadone - Major

Inform your doctor about the use of either medicines. When these medicines are taken or used together, can lead to serious side effects including respiratory distress, coma or even death. If you experience such symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in judgment inform the doctor on priority. Alcohol interactions:

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while receiving/taking this medicine as it may cause interactions and lead to serious adverse effects and may worsen the health condition.
